Nomad & Nest Online Store

Brief: 
Nomad & Nest home-grown fashion and retail label was established in Cardiff on 1st March 2006 from modest beginnings, with a resourceful attitude introducing and selling unique and original designs direct to the customer. The vision for Nomad & Nest and an important shift was to grow the business into an international brand through e-commerce and an online store. The brief was to create an online store and brand site for the original and authentic fashion label Nomad & Nest that essentially reflects the brands ethos ‘We love our stuff to be cherished not chucked’. The online store and brand site needed to present the brands story, the designer’s roots, the environmental values, the brands community-spirit and its sense of nostalgia. Most importantly the solution needed to be an engaging experience for Nomad & Nests customers and present the product collections in a strong photographic and touchy feely way. The website and online store also needed to be accessible, effective, efficient and dynamic to ensure increased exposure, increased awareness, increased sales across the U.K and internationally.

The creation of an online retail store and brand site that:

Functionality and the Customer Experience
- Has a flexible and easy to use CMS solution evolving and keeping Nomad & Nest’s website up to date
- Is essentially a simple and well integrated online shopping site with a no-fuss approach to its functionality
- Is intuitively easy to navigate, explore, use and purchase from
- Importantly gives the potential customers absolute reassurance in Nomad & Nest as a retailer
- Presents products and close-up detail using the automatic zoom option and product information to ensure purchasing is as accurate and informative as possible paramount to giving the customer as close as we can to that touchy-feely experience
- Purposefully makes good use of well established and tried and tested online shopping tools such as WorldPay avoiding gimmicks and reinventions to ensure the customer experience is as easy and seamless as possible
- Integrates the blog together with the complete site engaging visitors in a Nomad & Nest community-spirited way

Brand and Look
- Is presented with a well-worn travel journal approach with Nomad & Nest’s brand story, designers roots, heritage, sense of nostalgia and environmental values embedded throughout
- Presents an established fashion label and brand that looks authentic, original and fresh
- Presents a contemporary edgy image and feel that is a soulful brand and not a face-less one
- Presents a strong photographic story shot by Angela Gidden, Nomad & Nests Creative Director that importantly reflect the brand style, current and future fashion campaigns and visual direction of the site throughout.
- Creates a sense of individuality character and intrigue within each section throughout the website – no two pages the same

The result: 

1st order within 11 hrs of the site going live in April 2009
One repeat customer has purchased 6 onebag 247 in all colours
1st international order sent to Oklahoma in week 5 …. and counting!
Growing weekly orders
Positive and regular customer feedback about the site and overall experience
Press interest increasing
Retail interest gaining momentum from North Wales to London to Birmingham to Berlin to Finland to the USA
It’s STICKY – repeat visits and repeat orders
