The Oriel restaurant at Amgueddfa Genedlaethol Caerdydd had become tired over the years and in need of an update. Hoffi worked directly with Amgueddfa Cymru as consultant with Digby Trout and Momentum over a number of months to produce a contemporary space in keeping with Amgueddfa Cymru’s brand values and visual style to attract new audiences to the space. It was important to zone off areas within the restaurant as the size of the space is overwhelming. Through introducing bold colour to the surroundings of the restaurant seating areas, combined with crisp the lines of the contemporay furniture has brought the style from their brand communications into the eyes of the customer. The well lit space also has a calm feel, allowing people to stay a while and relax in comfy areas, or make use of the more formal dining spaces.
