Bili Seaplanes

Brief

To name, brand and position a planned seaplane service operating from Cardiff Bay.

Result

Unfortunately, Bili had his wings clipped and has not taken flight.

Solution

We thought of somewhat leftfield names that would neatly align to a seaplane service and that could be used in a humorous, resonant and bilingual way. We proposed ‘Bilidowcar’ – Welsh for Cormorant – an iconic, coastal bird common to Welsh waters which is known for its tenacity, endurance, and stamina. ‘Bili’ for short. Futura bold was chosen for it’s inherent link to the airline industry while a clean, accessible and memorable illustration style was developed for the logo.
