We were approached by photographer Melissa Jenkins to create an online interactive identity to showcase her Nikon Foundation award winning work. The brief required us to create an innovative user interface that showcased the work rather than detracting from it.
Result
A fullscreen interactive website with innovate navigational tools that allows users to thoroughly explore each photograph in high definition by panning around each image. The user also gets to 'design' their own experience choosing where each image transition starts and where each of the info content circles are formed. Using a mixture of the camera cursor and keyboard commands we were able to develop a bespoke editorial experience.
Solution
The idea was to create a metaphoric solution by employing an innovative interface built around the the camera's perspective from the users point of view. The transitions between each image resembles an individual moment on camera. The freedom of a photographer taking shots was an idea we wanted to translate into the user interface, which would encourage the individual to explore each image on a personal level.
