Brief
Palmer Environmental is part of Halma Plc, a group of technology companies. The company provides innovative and cost effective solutions in the area of monitoring and measuring devices and produce some of the world’s most advanced and easy to use equipment.
The brief from Palmer Environmental was to create a new product that would provide a benchmark in water leak detection equipment both in terms of the technology it utilises and the product enclosure and user interface.
Result
The MicroCorr Touch represents a breakthrough in water leak detection technology. It contains sensors which are at least twice as sensitive as anything available on the market today. It is also the first stand alone correlator to feature a high visibility full colour VGA touch screen, which greatly improves data entry and quality of data presentation. The enclosure is a stylish, robust, cost effective, easy to assemble and easy to maintain ‘in the field’.
Solution
With the product being used in some of the most inhospitable of environments, the solution required that the enclosure be designed to comply to an IP54 rating covering ingress protection from solids and liquids and high level impact protection,
In addition to this, the design requirements included impact loading, user interface design, product assembly, and product branding and labeling.
