Pant Du Vineyard - beverage Branding

Brief

The brief was to develop a strong brand identity for Pant Du a new vineyard based in Snowdonia that would be suitable for the range of beverages, including seven varieties of wine, ciders and bottled water. As the vineyard is still in its infancy the Pant Du business model will rely heavily on tourism to supplement the income from the sales of the wine, therefore the brand must appeal to visitors and tell a story…

Result

PD was revealed in Vinexpo with a fantastic response from the wine community and has already attracted extensive media coverage. Pant Du is due to open in September with the website currently in development. “Research revealed that many wine brands rely on their heritage which we at Pant Du currently do not have. It was therefore imperative for the new PD brand and packaging to be eye catching and above all tell our story, which the designers have delivered for us.” Richard Huws - Pant Du

Solution

To help overcome any potential language issues the initials PD rather than Pant Du were used as the basis of the brand. The label suggests the shape of a glass with wine / water swirling in the bottom or even a pair of lips. This shape is also an accurate profile of the Snowdon mountain range which is in direct view of the vineyard. The line running down the label also infers how the water is drawn up from the glacier bedrock producing quality spring water and fertile soil for growing wine.
