Great Transition

Brief

bwa were approached by the New Economics Foundation (nef) to create an identity and campaign newsletter for The Great Transition, a movement working with organisations such as Greenpeace, Soil Association and the World Development Movement that is finding new ways to strive and thrive through financial and climate crises and the peak and decline of global oil production.

Result

The campaign identity and launch newsletter proved very popular at this years Hay Festival and the nef are looking forward to working with other major international organisations as the campaign gathers momentum.

Solution

bwa developed a simple logo incorporating a hand-drawn icon based on an infinity symbol, which represents the goal of sustainability. The loose and rough style suggests experimentation and invites participation. The collage styled campaign newsletter is composed of hand-torn photocopied images printed in two colour. Each future issue will feature a different lead colour with the aim for them to be attractive and collectable. The first issue of the campaign newsletter was launched at this year's Hay Festival.
