Glamorgan Sport Launch
Brief
The Glamorgan Sport brand is one which is set up almost as a separate faculty, in that it has its own representative colour. Whilst the overall look and feel of the marketing materials needs to be consistent with the corporate branding, there is also a certain amount of leeway in terms of Glamorgan Sport. For 2012 entry UoG wanted to produce inspiring photography, brochure and advert style that promotes both the undergraduate and postgraduate courses along with the facilities that they currently have. The focus of all elements was on student recruitment.
The imagery in the brochure and advert need to be vibrant and dynamic while representing quality throughout. The images used need to encapsulate the high standard of facilities and their usage, whilst maintaining the strong style of imagery that we are moving toward with both Glamorgan Sport and the overall university brand.
Here is what your creative needs to achieve:
• Demonstrate the excellent level of facilities at the University
• Visually represent the courses accurately
• Portray the University as an institution of sporting excellence.
• Show both the indoor and outdoor facilities in action.
• Demonstrate leading-edge teaching in sport.
Result
This project is very much getting off the starting blocks with the brochure just hot off the press. Having pitched originally for the photography and this then leading on to brochure and advertisements CR must be doing something right!
‘The current style of advertising and photography is particularly creative…’ Kate Saunders, Marketing Executive, University of Glamorgan.
Solution
Sport surrounds us everyday in the advertising world. We are inspired to buy into the perfect product; use the right facilities; push our training to the limit, get the best out of our effort and to achieve maximum performance.
We understand the reasons that inspire individuals to play sport, to study at Glamorgan and to use this training facility.
Our proposal included a mix of three original options:
- Not just your average sport shots - create a scene
- Non identity shots
- Photographic value suite ie inset/ filler shots
Within each of the three proposals we have suggested
- Creative action shot
- Outdoor/large format/wide angle shots
- Indoor smaller more specific technology/location shots
Our proposal provided a unique and inspiring approach to sport at Glamorgan. Throughout all photo set ups the Glamorgan brand was considered and introduced where appropriate through either name positioning /product placement or colour on kit/facilities etc
