Welsh Blood Service rebrand

Brief

The Welsh Blood Service (WBS) covers a wide area, collecting blood donated from the general public across south, west and part of mid Wales. Before this brand development project, the WBS did not have an overall brand. The client required a simple, contemporary identity, to engage with younger audiences and encourage them to donate blood.

Result

The new campaign has been very well received by both the Welsh Blood Service and the general public. The website usage has increased by over 20% and usage continues to grow.

Solution

PGA redesigned the client’s existing logo, removing any obscure detail from the hearts design. This gave the identity a clear, modern image. The new branding was used across corporate stationery, roller and PVC banners, internal signage, leaflets, posters and website. To develop the brand, the production team created the new campaign line ‘If giving is in your blood, please help’, which was used for the Welsh Blood Service’s new TV and radio commercials.
