Hyde + Hyde Architects Identity

Brief

The brief was to re-brand, and in turn re-position, Hyde + Hyde Architects in order to attract a truly international client base. The brief demanded a brand that not only looked good but reflected the clients “endless desire for perfection.” The brand had to be timeless, confident and global in feel and attitude.

Result

Smörgåsbord understood our indefatigable passion and desire for perfection from the start, and came back with an enlightened interpretation of our core values and goals. This has been represented in a brand that is confident yet playfully inquisitive in nature. Solution

The solution was two-fold: a simple yet memorable monogram based on two capital ‘H’ letters set at 45° to reflect architectural renderings, fused with the choice of ‘Replica’ – a classically Swiss typeface created by the Zurich based Norm foundry in 2009. The ‘+’ was re-drawn to match the ‘X’ height of the capital letters used in the monogram/full name ‘lock-up’.
