Brief

The challenge was to create an identity for a charity based and funded in the UK engaging in providing medical assistance and health education to young women and families in the deprived and socially excluded elements of Bangladesh.

Result

The project is ongoing, the identity is serving to give the charity a strong foothold in an already congested Non-Governmental Organisation workspace, both in the UK and in Bangladesh. The flexibility of the visual devices allow the identity to be rapidly applied to new environments quickly, this is especially valuable where literacy is very poor and symbols are a premium.

Solution

The identity is derived from a theme on the national bird of Bangladesh, the blue chested robin magpie. The single bird made up of many smaller birds representing the young women which are the focus of the project and the way it is hoped information and empowerment will spread amongst them.
