Cardiff Design Festival

Professor Richard Weston, who had a very successful exhibition in the Morgan Arcade during last October’s Cardiff Design Festival, was profiled in the Independent on Sunday’s Style section this weekend. His scarves featuring magnified images of rocks and minerals are the season’s hit at Liberty of London, displayed alongside best sellers Kane and McQueen. Richard will also in the BBC2 programme Britain’s Next Big Thing which follows his journey from design hopeful to best selling fashion designer which starts in April.

Debbie Smyth’s distinctive pin and thread designs were included in the first Best of Welsh Design Graduate Exhibition that was held at the Butetown History and Arts Centre in 2008 and one can be seen in April’s Living etc magazine. Since that exhibition Debbie has since been supported by Cardiff pop up gallerists projectten, including taking part in their exhibition at the Design Festival in Morgan Arcade in 2010.
