Cardiff Design Festival

The 1st Festival was part of the celebrations in 2005 of Cardiff’s Centenary as a city, and has gone from strength to strength.

We’re now in our 6th year. It won praise from ‘design week’ that year, and again in 2009 as part of the their ‘Hot 50 most influential design things’ listings. The success has come from the enthusiasm and energy of the design community – it’s a festival that’s owned and shaped by the organisers of the different events with a few core annual cornerstones like the opening evening in the Senedd and the awards evening, which is held in an interesting venue each year. New partners and ideas join in each time, leading to a distinct and fresh flavour.
