It was clear from their old website that Welsh Athletics’ plethora of news, events and competitions, were all clamouring for attention on the homepage. Combine this with the build up to the 2012 Olympics, and the old site was going to become even more overcrowded.
The new website needed to be engaging to all; it was created to be a hub of information, a springboard for action and a mirror to Welsh Athletics’ recent reform and modernisation.
We were to define their new brand online.
Result
In the first two months, the site received over 50,000 visits. 55% of these users returned at least 10 times to review content. In the last month, traffic increased to around 30,000 a month. Precedent has successfully interpreted the brief and created an online presence which will allow ease of access to information for every type of user.”
Solution
Our aim was to simplify and enhance Welsh Athletics’ web presence. We did this by creating a very flexible design grid which allows them to showcase high impact imagery and engage with the athletics community by promoting the latest events and track meets. The use of a more intuitive IA and integration of social media encourages involvement both on and off line. It is now clean cut with a simple navigation and bursting with informative content; a true reflection of Welsh Athletics online.
