Kid Adrift

Brief

Develop a mini site displaying the social network and media feeds of newly signed Electro artist Kid Adrift. The theme should be ‘uncertain intentions’, make visual reference to artwork from the debut EP and attempt to integrate some simple method for allowing visitors to personalise or alter the site in an interesting way and as an inducement for collecting sign-ups to the artist community.

Result

Kid Adrift is a home made product of the digital age, a developing musical talent with an artistically experimental approach. With no established content and no brand to speak off the site manages to avoid the common fallback position of a ‘by the numbers’ roll out. Instead the reverse, it makes best use of very limited resources to produce a slightly unsettling experience by giving the visitor a role to play within the site theme and design.

Solution

You select a series of CCTV ‘street’ locations or views via an interactive map or by responding to a call to action on initial site load. Your views are graphically stylised, projected and panned within the background of the site with your identity tag. You can switch display between your own saved views or those of other members. Extrapolates the EP cover theme and works it into the site to deliver a unique experience.
