Brief

To design a world-class backdrop that would inform and engage 300 guests and media that were invited to the official opening and inauguration of the South Hook Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal in Milford Haven - part of the integrated Qatargas 2 project, communicating positive messages about the benefits of the project. Hosted by His Highness The Amir of Qatar, with guests including Her Majesty The Queen, Prince Phillip, Prince Andrew, the Secretary of State, MPs, and other dignitaries.

Result

The exhibition significantly raised the profile and strengthened the relationship between the UK and Qatar, with everyone delighted with the end result. South Hook wrote, “I write to thankyou personally for the tremendous job that Freshwater did in making our inauguration event such a success. Feedback from our Royal guests, government officials, shareholders and others has been very positive. None of this would have been possible without the professionalism, energy and enthusiasm of your team.”

Solution

A mix of static, interactive and multimedia seamless displays, conveyed a series of messages about the project in a high-impact format. Creative components such as light, atoms, bubbles, gas, liquid and a pipeline were used to theme our layout, and explain the gas production process from liquefaction through to shipping and re-gasification. Outdoor exhibit areas together with over 100m of colour-coded backlit panels created the impression of moving through the different steps in a process.
