Pembrokeshire book

Brief

Design a collection of black and white photographs into a book to capture the spirit and scenery of one of Wales’s best-known destinations. Accompanying the pictures David talks about why he took the images, to explain the creative process behind the image and its selection in the book.

Result

A visually beautiful book designed to a high specification, delivering powerful photographs. Daryl Corner, Western Mail said ‘Graffeg has built up a reputation for high-quality photographic books and technically this one is a cracker ...I can't help feeling that many copies of this book will be bought as a gift for aspiring snappers’. The Welsh Art Review commented on the ‘power and ineffable beauty of Wilson's images’, easily making the title a ‘favourite book’ for readers.

Solution

The book creates a beautiful record of the contradictions the area embodies, a place that is full of tourists in the summer but has harsh, lonely winters and vast expanses of land that are untouched. The title provides a glimpse into the unseen Pembrokeshire, with wild and rugged beauty and a sense of timelessness.
